Standing approximately ten inches tall, this striking handcrafted raku vessel combines a dramatic sculptural silhouette with rich contrasts of color and texture. Its broad, flared neck displays shifting shades of turquoise, blue-green, and muted copper, while the elongated lower body features a deep, almost black metallic finish.

Sweeping bronze-toned lines cross the dark surface in bold, angular patterns, creating a dramatic interplay between the vessel's luminous upper section and its darker body. The result is a commanding decorative piece that rewards close inspection from every angle.

Created by Pacific Northwest ceramic artist Jacob Virnig, this unique vessel reflects the unpredictable beauty of raku firing. Drawing on a centuries-old Japanese ceramic tradition, modern raku techniques use fire and smoke to create distinctive surfaces and atmospheric effects that cannot be precisely repeated.
