This handcrafted raku vessel combines a soft, matte gray surface with flowing ribbons of copper, rose, and warm metallic tones. Its compact, gently rounded body rises to a narrow neck and subtly flared mouth, creating an elegant silhouette. The colorful markings sweep across the surface in organic patterns, lending movement and character to this distinctive piece.

Created by Pacific Northwest ceramic artist Jacob Virnig, this unique vessel reflects the unpredictable beauty of raku firing. Drawing on a centuries-old Japanese ceramic tradition, modern raku techniques use fire and smoke to create distinctive surfaces and atmospheric effects that cannot be precisely repeated.
